Recently I celebrated my birthday and within that same week, I reached a few milestones and allowed myself to stop and reflect on how far I have come. It got me thinking about how 13/14-year-old Hayley would be in complete awe of what I have achieved this year. She was the young girl who was passionate about music but had no idea how to turn it into a career/reality, she wanted to get a tattoo one day, she was being bullied at school and couldn't see past grade 12.
Something always told me I was going to be okay though, and I still believe that everything will work out okay in the end. I wouldn't change the experiences that 13-year-old Hayley went through because as someone once said to me, those experiences were preparing me for something bigger and better - and I believed that whole heartedly. The music industry can be tough, life is tough, but I developed a thick skin over time. That's not to say I don't face challenges, there have been many points within this year that I thought it could never be done and I wasn't going to make it, my family and friends will even back me up on that fact, but giving up has never been an option.
As it gets closer, I am grateful to everyone who has made it possible and to those who have stuck by my side and believed in me all along. Hopefully, this is just the beginning of greater things to come.
